Ex Ordo announces renewed partnership with Society for Scholarly Publishing

Ex Ordo is delighted to announce a renewed partnership with the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP). As a chosen supplier, Ex Ordo will provide SSP with abstract management services and support for their flagship Annual Meeting over the next three years.

SSP is one of the world’s leading organisations within the scholarly communication and publishing community. The society’s Annual Meeting, which takes place in the US each year, is a significant event and a highlight on the calendar for many professionals in the field. It attracts attendees from around the globe, bringing together thought leaders and innovators from all sectors across the diverse scholarly community, including publishers, librarians, researchers, and technology providers.

Melanie Dolechek, executive director of SSP, said: “The Ex Ordo system is the first touch-point that session organizers experience with the meeting. The Ex Ordo system is intuitive and easy to navigate, and has the features and flexibility that meet the needs of our staff and volunteers. It allows us to evaluate the proposals quickly and make decisions in a timely manner. Over the last three years, the Ex Ordo system and their customer service allowed us to provide a really positive user experience.”

Ex Ordo’s CCO, Laura Harvey: “SSP is a cornerstone of the scholarly community. I’m thrilled they have chosen us as a partner for their flagship event. We look forward to working with Melanie and her team over the next three years, and to continue raising the bar in terms of providing a top-notch event planning experience for SSP organisers, attendees, reviewers and speakers.”

The success of SSP’s Annual Meeting is deeply rooted in personal connections and networking opportunities. Attendees benefit from knowledge sharing, collaboration, professional inspiration, career development, exposure to new technologies, community building, awareness of publishing challenges, global perspective on publishing trends and challenges, and impact on research and publications. It is an invaluable experience for anyone looking to stay current in the dynamic scholarly publishing space, and make meaningful connections with others in the field.

Ex Ordo will support SSP with the submissions and review process of selecting programme content for their Annual Meeting in 2024, 2025, and 2026, which will be taking place in Boston, MA, Baltimore, MD, and Chula Vista, CA respectively.
