Ex Ordo’s Search for a Chief Customer Officer

At Ex Ordo, we're gearing up to build the next generation of software platforms that scholarly societies will need to connect in an exciting new era of events. Integral to realising this vision is having the best talent on board.

Over the past several months, we’ve made some key appointments, with more to come.

In January, Giuliano Maciocci joined our team as Chief Product Officer, bringing from eLife significant experience in academic publishing and researcher support systems.

In May, we announced Paul Peters as our Non-executive Board Chair. Having previously led the Open Access publisher Hindawi, he brings his vast experience in scholarly publishing, the development of online tools and services to support scholarly researchers, as well as innovative partnership models aimed at collaborating with scholarly societies and other non-profit organisations.

And now we’re on the hunt for a Chief Customer Officer. This is a brand new position for a highly experienced professional to join our senior leadership team, and champion the Customer Experience. Closing date for applications is Friday 19 August 2022.

Interview with CEO Paul Killoran, chatting about the latest stage in Ex Ordo’s journey, and current search for a CCO

What do we need?

For this newly created Chief Customer Officer role, we’re looking for someone with 7-10 years of management experience at senior level. Reporting to Paul, our CEO, you will contribute directly to the company’s strategic planning and decision-making. You should have a proven ability to develop and grow commercial partnerships in the scholarly sector, extensive experience partnering with or working for scholarly societies, and experience working in an innovative, technology-based business.

As CCO, you’ll be responsible for leading the rapidly growing sales, marketing, customer support, and customer success teams, and overseeing relationships between the business and our key society partners. Over the coming two years, you’ll establish a pilot partnership programme with a core group of societies, scale our customer-facing teams, and develop a roadmap for the international expansion of our commercial teams.

What do we offer?

As a remote-first company, we welcome applications from candidates who live anywhere within EMEA / US Eastern time zones. Please note that although this is a work-from-home position, regular international travel is required.

Remuneration includes a competitive six-figure salary and benefits package, with substantial long-term equity-based incentive package.
